Update 1: February 2026

Dennis has been held for 372 days

Dear Supporter,

We, Dennis’ family, deeply value you and your participation in the cause of freeing Dennis. Your presence beside us gives us the courage to continue pressing forward. What we could not accomplish alone, we are confident we will achieve together. From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you!

While the ripples of public voices already speaking out on behalf of Dennis have spread far and wide, we wanted to specifically thank Chris Cuomo for launching our public campaign and Katie Pavlich for bringing Dennis’ situation to the President’s attention during her January 20th interview, where the President said, “I’ll take care of it!” Thank you Chris and Katie!

Since January 20th, we have met a number of times with US government officials and participated in a number of private conversations. However, we are eagerly waiting for public comments and tangible progress toward freeing Dennis.

We plan to travel to Washington DC the week after next to continue advocating for Dennis’ release. We will update you more about our trip soon.

How can you help:

Please visit the Contact Us section of the White House website www.whitehouse.gov/contact/ and follow these steps to send a message to the president.

1) Select “Contact the President” in the first drop-down menu.

2) Fill in your name and contact information in the next information fields.

3) Write a message in the “Comments” box. Feel free to use the suggested wording below.

Dennis Coyle, a U.S. citizen and an academic from Pueblo, Colorado, has been wrongfully detained in Afghanistan since January 27, 2025. He has been held for months without formal charges being made public, and his family has serious concerns about his well-being and the severe limits on communication.

During a January 20th interview with Katie Pavlich, President Trump said “I will take care of it!” Please help ensure Dennis’ case remains a priority and that U.S. leadership continues pressing for a clear pathway to bring him home safely. Time is of the essence, and his family needs him back.

4) Verify that you are a human and submit.
